Celtics Fans Take Care of Their Own: San Bernardino's Gabriel Mendivil, 33, is the Celtic fan who riled Lakers fans during Staples Center's "home court" screening of game 2 between L.A. and Boston. Once it got national attention on YouTube, Boston fans wanted to help out the fellow fan and get him a trip east for the victory parade. The Boston Herald reported "JetBlue ground operations and training liaison Mike Fitzpatrick, 56, of Walpole, donated a “buddy pass” to Mendivil and his daughter, Samantha, 9, to make the trip for today’s ' "rolling rally.' "
“We got it all squared away” Tuesday, said Fitzpatrick, who greeted Mendivil at luggage claim.
Michael Quish, owner of SMQ Limousine in Canton MA, chipped in with limousine transportation, a room at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel and a Boston Harbor cruise on the Odyssey.
Laker fan, Armando Talamantes, 30, of Rosemead, Calif., was arrested two days later before game 3. Due to the fight, Staples Center did not show game 6 –- which would have caused a bigger riot.
